SECOND ANNUAL SEATTLE WORLD TOUR SHOWCASES LOCAL MUSIC TO SUPPORT MARY’S PLACE
Shows 5 nights from January 8 – 12, 2019 at 5 historic venues and a week-long fundraising and clothing drive for Mary’s Place
Seattle, WA — The Second Annual Seattle World Tour, a showcase of local musicians performing in historic venues across Seattle, runs from January 8 to 12, 2019. The tour, presented by Hip Hop/Soul band, All Star Opera and Respect My Region, the authority for local music and culture, hopes to raise awareness, clothing and funds to support Mary’s Place, a non-profit that serves women, children and families on their journey out of homelessness.
“We are grateful to be a part of the Seattle World Tour again this year! What a great, fun example of how our community is coming together this winter to support our “No Child Sleeps Outside!" campaign,” said Marty Hartman, Mary's Place Executive Director.
“We are so honored that our fellow musicians are joining us to support the “No Child Sleeps Outside,” campaign,” said Seth McDonald, Executive Director of The Seattle World Tour and member of All Star Opera. “We are also pleased to have the opportunity to allow music lovers to explore five unique Seattle neighborhood venues.”
In addition to clothing collected at each show, all profits from official Seattle World Tour merchandise will go directly to Mary’s Place. All Star Opera is donating their show earnings to Mary’s Place each night.
McDonald said that local beverage company, Jones Soda, has created 24 custom collectible Jones Soda bottles, one for each artist on the Seattle World Tour, one for each venue, one for Mary's Place and one for Respect My Region. Bottles will be available online via a silent auction between January 2 and 8. Show attendees will have the opportunity to place a final bid on artist bottles performing each night. All proceeds will be donated to the “No Child Sleeps Outside” campaign.
Building on the success of last year’s event, the 2019 Tour will include an eclectic array of talent and musical genres including All Star Opera, Biddadat, Chris King & the Gutterballs, COSMOS, Cuff Lynx, DJ Marvelous, Gypsy Temple, Kung Foo Grip, La Fonda, Marshall Law Band, MistaDC, Ralphy Davis, Sendai Era, TeZATalks, Tres Leches, Trick Candles and Whitney Mongé.
"The Seattle World Tour is one of the coolest, most rewarding events we are thankful to be a part of here at Neumos! It is the perfect combination of local art and a benefit for an important cause. The dedication and hard work of the whole organizing team is inspiring!" said Evan Johnson / Talent Buyer at Neumos.
